Coronary CTA as first line diagnostic test
Coronary CTA receives a class I indication as a first line noninvasive test for patients with chest pain “in whom obstructive coronary artery disease cannot be excluded by clinical assessment alone”.
The European Society of Cardiology has updated its guidelines for the testing patients with symptoms who are at low risk for obstructive coronary artery disease to include Coronary CTA as a first line test.
IHS supports hospitals and physicians caring for patients with chest pain by providing rapid chest pain pathways, rapid coronary CTA triage, interpretation, and clinical diagnostic support for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with symptoms suggestive of obstructive coronary artery disease who are considered low risk for acute coronary syndrome. IHS starts programs, grows programs and fills in the gaps when local cardiologists and radiologists are unable to provide support, during the day, after hours, throughout the night.
